Hexagram 28
Hexagram 28: Great Excess
大過 (Dà Guò)
Overwhelming situations that require extraordinary measures.
Overview
In the past you had to go through a time of inner growth and then step out into the world. But a trap could be waiting even for the strongest: a pause turned into stagnation. Without noticing it, you ended up like a person who is afraid to begin, who feels how unsteady everything is and fears that it will end badly.
Right now things are moving in a bad direction. Because you are unsure of yourself and of the people around you, you are unlikely to manage anything of importance.
The advice of this sign is to move quickly into the next stage and leave the failed period behind. That is not easy, of course. First that means correcting the mistakes of the past. You cannot drag such a weight with you. Go back over what you have lived through, find the moment when things stopped moving, and understand why it turned into chaos.
Do not turn away from the mistakes you made, telling yourself that nothing can be repaired. You have gained experience, even if it is bitter. Use it well, and the same trap need not catch you twice.
People around you
Look carefully at your relationships with the people around you. You may well have made a mistake, and coldness can appear between you and them.
Be very careful in general, because this sign is unfavorable for many areas of your life.
Work and rest
It will be hardest for those who are not used to routine work. But remember: however hard you try to grab hold of an attractive project, it may come to nothing. Better to drop such plans, or the risk will rise beyond any acceptable level.
The best thing you can do now is ordinary work. It follows a familiar road and will not demand any hasty steps.
To save your strength and keep your spirits up, rest more often.
Your wish
Your wish is not the question yet. First get out of this situation, and things will go better after that. Do not waste time. Clear away your past mistakes. Choose a new direction. It will not happen at once, but the wishes that are truly yours stay within reach.
