Hexagram 1
Hexagram 1: The Creative
乾 (Qián)
Heaven, creative force, leadership, and strength. The ultimate yang principle.
Overview
This sign asks to be read slowly. You are the creator of your own fate, and you answer for it. Everyone has periods when they can and must actively shape events. Events, in turn, shape the course of your life. Right now, begin with yourself, and work out which direction is best for you.
This asks for all your strength, mental and intellectual. The more seriously you take the task, the more your work will give back. Try to answer a few questions honestly. Are you happy with how things stand? Do you like your life? Do you have a serious aim that asks you to keep growing and keep moving forward? Do you give it all your energy? Is there real understanding between you and the people you love? Is anything wrong between you and your friends?
Do not be too lazy to answer them. Decide for yourself how you will behave, so that you can see in what order to act.
People around you
Your relationships need work, and this touches every one of the people around you. There is a stiffness in you, and it takes the warmth and the honesty out of your conversations. Calm down and let yourself relax. That alone can do a great deal, and relationships tend to ease once it does.
Work and rest
In this period you need to balance work and rest. Your willingness to help can be used against you. Try not to mix friendly relations with work duties. Do not let anyone exploit you, and do not lose your standing in the eyes of the people around you.
Your wish
Your wish may meet unexpected difficulty, because your plans depend on other people, and someone may not want to help you.
Much will depend on your tact and on how well you understand people. Treat it as a test of fate. Can you keep moving toward your aim even when something blocks the way?
Besides the results you expect, this sign points to a change in your personal life, and a welcome one. Be ready for a pleasant surprise. And do not be afraid of anything. You deserve more than you are counting on.
Traditionally this sign is a favorable one for plans already in motion, and for their coming together soon.
This Overview is one traditional reading of the figure, offered as a prompt for reflection and perspective rather than a prediction of a fixed future. Where this material comes from.
